On 28/7, Chairman of People's Committee of Hanoi has signed a decision to establish the Hanoi Tourism Department following the separation from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Hanoi.

Hanoi Tourism Department is based at 17 Dien Bien Phu Street, Dien Bien Ward, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi. Leaders of the Department include directors and three deputy directors.
The structure of the system consisting of the Office, Inspection and Tourism Management Department, Room accommodation facilities management, room-research plan developed.
Hanoi Tourism Department has the function of advising and assisting the People's Committee of Hanoi perform State management over tourism in the area, the public services in the field of management of the department and perform some tasks and powers as assigned or authorized by the city People's Committee.
Also according to the decision of the Chairman of the City People's Committee, the Hanoi Tourism Department implement measures to protect, restore, exploitation, rational use and development of tourism resources, tourism environment tourist resorts, tourist destinations in the city.
Hanoi Tourism Department is also tasked to develop plans and programs for tourism promotion and implementation of tourism promotion programs, events, trade fairs, seminars, exhibitions of local tourism after approved.
